fresh.ink Contest
fresh.ink is a new and upcoming platform that connects writers with beta readers. In order to kick off their start-up, fresh.ink is offering a writing contest with up to $7,500 in prizes, depending on the category. Submissions will be judged by readers on the fresh.ink mobile app, based on how many people finish reading your work and how they rate it. Only the count of people who finish your work will count towards your finished score!
I find this absolutely fascinating because it’s not only a great way to earn a monetary prize, but a great way to have access to thousands of beta readers outside of your network with different backgrounds. The contest is free to enter and holds no rights to your story, you can even use work you’ve had published before.

Chicken Soup for the Soul
Chicken Soup for the Soul is an infamous book series that publicizes stories within different themes or challenges… including but not limited to Christmas, Mother-Daughter, Pet, Laughter, etc. While this is not (technically) a fiction contest, I thought it was important to include because it’s a great way to get publicized, make a few dollars, and see your work in something than larger life. Most people, avid readers at least, have heard of the Chicken Soup publications before. I chose to include it here in order to give people an idea on other things they are able to apply stories and experiences too.
I’m interested in submitting a memoir of mine, and wanted to keep a log of when I found it to keep it going.
